A Busy August

Baptisms and a Beach Trip- We've had a busy August!

Tyler and Carter were baptized on the 24th at St. Pius X.

Gigi made them their Gowns and the Godmothers got them ready for the very special occasion.
We thank everyone who came- especially those who traveled from far! Yes, all of Tyler and Carter's aunts and uncles were there . . .
And so were all of the Buck Cousins. Too funny planning a picture with them all. Camden couldn't get enough of the babies and Lucy (Megan's little girl with the curly dark hair) couldn't get enough of it all! Just a little poser! Mary is all grown up and so well behaved. . . Luke and Holden are just 1 so what can you expect? And little Chiara (Amy's baby girl) . . . she is BEAUTIFUL- older than Tyler and Carter but much smaller- just dainty- with the longest eyelashes you've ever seen!
Yes- Camden adores our two little guys. Before the trip he couldn't WAIT to meet them and all week long wanted to hold them and help feed them. My favorite- he would go down the long list and say to you in his sweet voice: "Look- their cute little head. . . look, their cute little ears . . . little nose . . . little hands . . . little feet"
He is going to be such a great big cousin!

The next day we headed for a week at the Oregon Cost to celebrate (a belated) Popi's 60th Birthday.

Winning a Swimming Gold Medal by 1/100th of a second . . . . that's nothing!
The boys weigh CLOSER than 1/100th of a pound the same! Yes, at their 3 month appointment they both weighed not just down to the ounce (14 pounds 13 ounces) but down to the 10th of an ounce (14 pounds 13-point-4 ounces) the same . . . AMAZING!

It didn't take long till Travis put a football in their hands (just wait for the ND pics- there will be plenty!)

Every morning they have snuggled their bodies into each other no matter how far apart they start off at night. It's very sweet. I don't know how we will ever separate them into 2 cribs.

First (Swimming) Kicks!

I took the boys over to Gigi and Popi's last week- it was almost 100 degrees so we brought out the wading the pool and boy did the boys LOVE IT!! They kicked their feet and just smiled. Here's a pretty funny video of them in action. You can hear Gigi and of course it all concludes with a little drool!

First Nap in the Nursery!

I attempted to "move them into the nursery" today for just a nap . . . it worked for just about an hour (thank goodness to Kylie's lullaby tunes she gave me) . . . have advice? Let me know! Yes- they still share a crib so we can keep one in our room for emergencies. And Carter has been "scared of the dark" or something lately so they will probably sleep overnight there for a little longer. It's cute cause by the end of the night - even in swaddles - they have scooted to be close to one another.
Here is the other side of the nursery- painted the sports murals in my last week of pregnancy. I hope they like them! And as you can see, Travis has already bought them their first bat and ball.

Here's a 2 1/2 month picture . . . aren't they adorable ad HUGE?! Tyler again is on the left, Carter on the right . . . You can somewhat see in the picture that they may have gotten their Popi and Grandma's eyes- yes they are still very blue!! Travis and I have our doubts though cause we both have hazel- but maybe they will stay? We'll see!

2 Months Old!

You hear there is nothing like it . . . the love for your child. And then you experience it. The day they were born, I didn't think I could love ANYTHING more. But everyday I love THEM more. I don't know how it's possible. . . everything about it is so overwhelming. The way they cuddle with you, smile, and just move their little hands . . . I feel like my heart could just burst.






The boys turned two months old this past week - celebrating all the milestones . . .Once again they gained a pound in the last week weighing 12 pounds 6 ounces at their 2mo. appointment (yes the EXACT same) . . . and now they are in the 75% for weight! Such a shock since they started much below average. They are just getting huge! They had their first vaccines which were traumatic but later this week began sleeping 6+ hours at night which is a blessing (to say the least!).



Some days they look very different to me- When people see them they always ask me if I think I have switched them- but truly- they can look so different at times. And then others they are identical! Just the little characteristics they have in common. From the way they sleep, to the creases in their ears and wrinkles in their foreheads. Even more uncanny (and perhaps TOO much info) - they only "dirty" (if you know what I mean) their diapers every 2 or so days and they will do it 5 minutes within each other. So thank goodness one has always scratched his face or something (in these pictures it's Tyler).










We catch them holding hands- it's incredibly sweet.

This picture doesn't look too much like him but they both come with a cute story. While I was feeding Carter on the couch one day, I had Tyler plopped on the other end. I grabbed the camera and was holding it out in front of him and he just started looking right into it and beaming . . it was hysterical-not looking at me-just into the camera and posing.

Weigh in!

The boys just got weighed yesterday- They both still weigh the exact SAME- down to the ounce. . . . Now they are 11 1/2 pounds . . . yes- in the last five weeks they have gained a pound a week!

Do you know what that means? This will soon be impossible- I can still hold both of them at the same time- but just barely!










Here we are at the Reser wedding. The boys slept through the entire service- Boy did we get lucky! It was our first time back to the Grotto since Travis and I got married- and to think, this time we had twins in tow. Something we never would have imagined!























Next up . . . Fourth of July at the beach! The annual event was fun as ever with over 40 people! Zan and Janna came down for the weekend and it was the boys' first time to the coast. . . . but we didn't quite make it down to the water- we'll save that for next time.

About once or twice a week we head over to Gigi and Popi's house - they have air conditioning!

Gigi loves giving her grandsons a bath. . . . they LOVE the water and just smile throughout it. You can tell Maizy is still confused by this all- She loves to just follow us around no matter what we are doing.

Pictures I Love . . .

I can't seem to get enough . . .

First off- Travis with the little guys. He just lights up when he gets home from work- it makes me realize how blessed I am to be able to spend all day with them. I love my house full of boys.












Here's Carter. He smiles and laughs so much. He's always been very good at tracking- but especially now. He seems so observant, even recognizing Popi's voice immediately the other day.









This is Tyler. His faces are to die for- from stretching to even sleeping- everything comes with a dramatic expression. This is him just being cute . . . he cracks me up.

Jealousy!

We told Maizy "Playmates are on the Way" but failed to mention that at first, they wouldn't play- just cry and get all the attention. I think Maizy is confused how two little guys can keep us up all night, spit up on the floor, and still get so much love. . . . not to mention they get to be in the bed with us. Where did she go wrong?

We are so lucky because she has transitioned incredibly well, trying to sneak a lick or two. But here's what I walked into one day- Gigi trying to calm two hungry little ones, and Maizy plopping herself on her Gigi's lap to steal the attention. As a good mother, I did not jump to help, but grabbed the camera to take this picture for the blog. Yes, it shows that at this time, not even the dog can live without Gigi.

One Month!

Can you believe it?! In a matter of the past two weeks, these little guys both gained two pounds. They weigh the exact same: 8 pounds 4 ounces . . . more by now!

Both are starting to lose their hair on top (oh no!) and back (thank goodness!) . . . Can you guess who is who? Take the poll. . . then you can look in our photo album to see if you are right- no cheating!



Karen and Brian brought Luke to Portland a week before his first birthday . . . We were so excited for them to meet our little ones and celebrate with our nephew.

The highlight of the weekend was cake time for Luke. He went to town on the dessert Gigi made for him- we were laughing hysterically and it either motivated him to keep going- or he just didn't care! Too cute.
Then he decided to share with his mom- not his baby cousins- thank goodness!

Up and Running!

I am talking about our blog- not our little guys!

May 15, 2008 was the big day . . . Three days later they were finally named! Tyler was "Baby A" weighing 6 lbs 2 oz and Carter ("Baby B") was 6 lbs 3 oz.

I never imagined my life was missing so much. To be a mom- it seemed so instant yet so perfect from the first cry. How much these two have brought to our lives- in such a short time. They are our world.

The Moment: This is how I was introduced to our boys. . . Travis rounded the curtain with them both in his arms. I melted- yes, funny enough- the two crying were us- not them.
